2 figures clothed to appear as Oak and Holly Kings spiral in from Mars line with smudge pots and do a turn around the fire counterclockwise then come to a stop and bow to one another. Together they speak - finshing each others' sentences. Depending on time of year and incilnation the talk may go something like:
"We offer you the blessing of the Oak King and the Holly King. Come to us each in turn to breathe in the in-spiration of the Magick each represents. Come to me to take in the Light . Come to me to drink in Darkness. From me, claim what the Hunter claims. From me, give up what the Prey gives up. From me experience Increase. From me experience Lessening. From me become the Becoming. From me send away the Going Away. From us each Breath in and find In-spiration. Breathe out and find Ex-piration."
Then each spirals back outwards clockwise while breathing in and out. Oak and Holly King take up opposite stations just inside the Mars line and offer smudge and blessings unique to each individual, as Spirit moves them.
This should be accompanied by steady, engaging drum beat, moderate speed and volume, with a chant focusing on complementarity or the dual nature of the God or the Year...
They can be robed, masked or crowned in black/white, red/green, silver/gold, blond/brunette or otherwise complementary colors/motifs/body types. Or they can be barely clad at all and henna-ed or painted with oak leaves and holly leaves.
After 10-20 minutes or if people stop approaching the smudge, each should start to wander and dance in the circle as the drums kick up in speed and or volume.
3 women doing red/white/black, Maiden/Mother/Crone would be wonderful, too, and they can either start or end by dancing like the 3 Graces around the fire.
